THE COVE SAVVY SENIORS: On Monday, May 14, the Alburgh Public Library will welcome the Savvy Seniors. The troupe is made up of a team of senior volunteers who will perform comical skits about issues that touch all of us: healthcare fraud and errors, identity theft, telemarketing and mail fraud, drug diversion and medication management. The Savvy Senior actors will role-play and demonstrate ways consumers can protect themselves from being targets of fraud.
MOVIES @ THE LIBRARY: Family Movie Nights will feature "Jack & Jill "(2011) rated PG on Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m. and on Friday, May 23, "Joyful Noise"(2012) rated PG13 will be showing.
BOOK DISCUSSION: On Monday, May 21, at 7 p.m., the Neighborhood Reading, Writing and Film Group will discuss "The Way to Rainy Mountain" by Scott Momaday. Books are here ready for pick-up.
NEW BOOKS: Look on the New Fiction Shelves for "Columbus Affair" by Steve Berry, and "Come Home" by Lisa Scotoline.
FOR THE KIDS: Every Tuesday morning Gina's StoryTime offers books, crafts and snacks for preschoolers at 10:30 a.m. The After-School Activity Program (ASAP) runs on Wednesdays at 3:45 p.m., with activities for children ages 6 and up.
SIT, KNIT AND CHAT: Join the folks who like to knit, sew, embroider or quilt on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the library.
COMPUTER CLASS: Free computer classes are provided in the library with one-on-one tutorials. Megan will be here on alternate Fridays, May 11 and May 25 from 10:00 to 12:00. To reserve a half-hour slot on May 3, drop in or call 796-6077.
OPEN SIX DAYS A WEEK: The library is open on Monday 1-5, Tuesday 9-5, Wednesday and Thursday 1-5, Friday 1-9, and Saturday 10-1. WI-FI is available inside and outside the library building 24/7. The Echo Museum pass is available year-round. |
